also, they covered for the US gymnastics doctor who molested athletes for years and years., so there is that.

Don't know about East Lansing, but have been to College Park. The campus is so so.

Michigan is freezing and dark during the school year. University of Michigan reports 26 percent of students consider suicide and East Lansing is even further north. Give me happy, healthy, normal CP.

Total BS!

This. Plus UMD has no community.

Why do you say that UMD has no community?

MSU is tainted by the gymnastics scandal, which may take a decade for it to recover from. Just look at what happened to PSU where the scandal was much smaller.

The scandal may affect the internship opportunities and the placement of the graduates, just saying.

OMG - you are an idiot. Do you think an employer is going to blame some 20 year old student for this? Did you get your college degree from a vending machine?

No, but employers do care about the reputations of a college.

I agree. PSU,UNC and MSU are 3 schools where the administration has been exposed as very dishonest over long periods of time. UNC actually graduated self admitted illiterate students. All 3 are suspect and tainted diplomas by virtue of highly dishonest and borderline evil institutional DNA.

Michigan resident here. MSU has a nicer campus than UM but East Lansing from Detroit Metro Airport is a schlep. Maybe they now have direct flights? East Lansing? Not a bad college town. IMHO, and I graduated from Michigan, Ann Arbor is overrated.

MSU has a reputation as a party school but your child can find their niche. Gigantic school. Detroit area HSs in Rochester, Novi, Troy send a big chunk of their graduates to that campus. Out of State is 23%, used to be lower but I would suspect most of them are from Ohio and Illinois. Once out if East Lansing it's farmland.

My two cents? If your child can handle being far from home and also getting used to the Midwest, hard to turn MSU down.

There are plenty of flights on Delta to DTW. East Lansing is no Ann Arbor but anecdotally, all the grads I know in Physics & Supply Chain Mgmt, to name two majors, had their pick of jobs. Good luck

They're #1 in the country for supply chain.

Take the free ride. Why is this even a question if he'll have to take student loans!
