Another student said she just can’t wake up at 6 am everyday it’s way too much for her..

Sounds like she’ll continue to have issues next year when things are back to normal. Keep an eye out for that one.

they are allowed to play games in PE not just sit there?

Oh yes. Some of the PE teachers take all the in person kids and another PE teacher takes the virtual kids for each block. No virtual PE in school!!

Yes this is happening. They run laps or other activities when in school. Even for DL our PE teachers were trying real hard. Making sure everyone’s cameras are on. Line dancing, sit-ups, push-ups. Etc. I would hear them in the next room as they called out the kids who didn’t seem like they were trying.

ANECDOTES!!!

And your kids wanting to go back are ANECDOTES too.

Her parents need to keep an eye on her. A kid’s sleep schedule isn’t on the teacher.

There is going to be a lot of this next year. I know parents who allowed their kids to choose DL because they don’t like:

Waking up early
Wearing clothes
Eating on a schedule
Asking to use the bathroom

Or an assortment of the above. And the parents don’t care.

2 more weeks then back to 4 days! Woohoo! It will feel *almost* normal. Or the closest we’ve been to normal in a year.

Yes, but my son's PE had so few kids the teacher ended up letting them play games on chromebook.

Wtf. If you have one kid, you have enough for a gym class. PE can “private coach” them in something, or at the least walk/run with them around the track or school. I hate that Chromebooks have become the default for everything, including gym!

DP here. My 7th grader has missed a lot of virtual PE for the “dentist” and “medical appts.” It is so so lame. I’m so glad she’ll be back 4 days soon because she enjoys in-person PE.
