What are the nicest and most beautiful towns in Colorado?

The only place I have been to in Colorado was Crested Butte (in the summer). I have to say it was pretty fabulous.

We spent an evening in Aspen in August 2019, camping outside of town, prior to hiking at Maroon Bells.

I recall my wife commenting, "There's lots of rich white people here."

Where do the poor people (of any color) go?

They drive to Va Beach or Myrtle Beach.

Check for AC in the summer. We were in Vail and Breck in October and it was warmer than we would have liked at night.

Telluride is probably the nicest, but I can't afford it. We really like that section of Colorado- SW Rockies. Durango is a great hub for that area- Ouray, Silverton...etc. Saw Estes Park get some mentions here. Not really a fan. It's location is great- east entrance to RMNP, but we prefer Grand Lake. Grand Lake is at the west entrance to the park and quieter.

That’s unusual.

I grew up going to camps at Grand Lake.
However, I’ve heard that between the pine beetle and wildfires, a lot of the trees are gone.

Most mountain lodging that was built 20+ years ago does not have AC. Typically it cools down every night... but not so much anymore.

I grew up camping there too! Very sad about the recent fires.

Colorado Springs/Manitou Springs. Depending on the ages of your kids, there is so much to do.

We love Steamboat Springs in the summer. Bike along the Yampa. You can also tube the Yampa depending on when you go. Great place to try fly fishing. Lots of hiking - as hard or as easy as you want. Loved the area around Fish Creek Falls for hiking. Saw tons of moose. Great food and scenery at the Creekside Cafe for breakfast or lunch but also plenty of other good restaurants. We found the Tread of Pioneers Museum surprisingly interesting and spent much more time there than we expected. Strawberry Park Hot Springs was great (just do during the day - night-time is clothing optional). Drive is a little more than 3 hours from Denver and it has some great scenery.
