Need a "non-Karen" haircut for chin length hair that I'm growing out

Wait, you insulted her insulting haircut comments with....haircut comments?

This is so meta.

As a middle age lady named Karen who wears a bob because long hair looks terrible on me, may I just say, without speaking to the manager because I am nice, suck it.

My hair used to be long and then has been in a pixie for years, and now I'm in this in-between place and don't know what to do. I have seen a ton of criticism of middle-aged white womens' appearance lately, and especially this specific angled bob haircut, because of the whole Karen thing. I know that criticism is misogynistic, but that doesn't mean I want to walk into it. I'm looking for a haircut that makes me feel good about myself, not something that reminds me of memes about racist women. I know that's frustrating -- women should just be able to wear our hair how we want! But the truth is that people judge us for how we look, and I want to avoid any judgment that makes people think I'm racist or small-minded (or unattractive, for that matter).

Anyway, I actually really like this cut below and think my hair is long enough to do it and has the right texture (most of the others from the link sent are too long -- my hair isn't there yet). Do people have opinions about how this will look on a white lady? Agree about avoiding the Kate Gosslin spiky hair thing, but this looks really soft and full, plus pretty easy to style.

I'm also experimenting with headbands which I think help a bit with my bang grow-out issue. Never thought I'd be a headband girl, but I'm desperate. My hair has been depressing me all year and is taking way too long to grow.

This is a wig!

100% yes. But her edges are laid down nicely. Halle is the best.

Halle is so beautiful. It's really hard to judge her hair because of that. I think she looks great, but I'm not sure it's the hair.

Ha ha, yes. I took a photo of her to the hairdresser in the '90s, and let's just say that I did NOT come out looking like Halle Berry.

This is just the disgusting mean girl behavior most adults outgrow by their early 20s. OP, focus more on your spirit and less on your appearance. No haircut can fix ugly.

Yes, this. I can’t tell if you were trying to be cute OP, but you sound like an awful person. No haircut will help that!

Jesus. Sorry everyone is so oversensitive, OP. I found your post funny and light. Good for you for letting it roll off you. Buncha pollyannas round here.

I think maybe a lot of people feel called out over their haircuts.

The racist, anti-woman shit people say on here every day, and this is the post that gets people upset. How pathetic and predictable.

OP, it looks like mullets, bangs and bobs are all in style, so you're on the right track. Just don't do the angled bob thing.

I just don’t understand why it’s now ok to be racist and anti woman...especially from a woman.

You diminish the meaning of terms such as these when you fling them around like a Karen and her lob.

I look terrible in long hair - it just doesn't suit my features. So for the past couple of years I've embraced varying lengths and styles of bobs. My hair is thick, has a slight wave and grows fast.

I just went to my stylist yesterday and she gave me a quite a chop and cut into my bob so there are lots of long layers and great movement. It hits about chin length and I love it. I don't care if it reminds anyone of a 'Karen" because it's a cute cut and really who has time to worry about that?

Say NO to hair bands at your age.

I’ve had the cut pictured and loved it.

The awkward grow out phase is so hard. I’d play up hair accessories (tastefully) to make it through the low point. Headband, Bobby pins, clips and hats to make the awkward uneven (longer) parts look more in sync with the shorter parts. I think this approach applies to all attempts to grow out hair!!
