How often do your kids miss virtual school?

2 days for a medical procedure. We're at a private so I don't want to waste my money. Plus, what else is she going to do for 6 hours while we're working?

This is not true. It is totally on the parent.

DP. I listened to Brabrand say on multiple town halls that video of classes would be posted so that kids in families who don't have a set up that accommodates attendance during regular hours for whatever reason could access the videos at a time that worked. ONE of my kids' teachers posts videos, the rest don't. Following through with that could have vastly helped parents like pp. This is definitely not on PP. Do you expect her to quit her job and sit with her kid during work hours?

Have you asked??? If you haven't asked, then it's your fault.

At least one grade in our school is only posting one teacher's classes for the whole grade to view. That's probably what is happening in your school.

Never! This is the best part of virtual school, it is so easy to have them go! They were tardy once when I forgot they didn’t have the same school schedules (one kid had no school that say, the other kid did).

Once DD participated in class from the car on the way home to a dentist appointment. The only class she couldn’t do that with is maybe PE. I think she could even do art in the car.

One of my DCs really hates missing any school and her classes are moving quite quickly this year.

In normal times, the kids probably miss 1-2 days per year for travel and a 1-2 times for doc or dentist.

My kids have not missed a day since virtual. They are ES. That said, we'll be taking a road trip this weekend and potentially missing a few days. I'm not worried about it.

In a normal year, we usually miss 1 week for vacation to visit family overseas.

I would never pay private school tuition for virtual! Wow. You must be rich.

I like the "its not school, its a drop in camp" approach. We are also planning some spring trips.
