Loudoun didn’t get GDA. They knew it was over for them. They weren’t going to be able to hold their kids together past U13 and the flow of talent would head to FCV. Then, Loudoun snuck in through the opening left by FCV (checkmate) when they discovered that heavy weights like PDA, Hawks, Stars and others were ditching GDA and going back to ECNL.

Locally, VDA left GDA after one year and Arlington snuck in their spot. As a strategic move against GDA, BRYC got ECNL.

Thank USSF. No one else to blame.

Nope. Just been around a while and know history. Watching things unfold the way they have the last five years is unbelievable. The age change that broke teams apart and forced kids to skip an entire age group, the establishment of the GDA, the expansion of both leagues, the strategic moves and cut throat actions, the collapse of the GDA and the USWNT law suit, the rise of GAL, the bidding wars, COVID, pushing of recruiting deadlines, extension of dead periods, cancelling of HS season...what else am I missing?

The 03 and 04s have seen it all at this points.

Ugg. I always say that it proves how much fun it is to play soccer or no one would have stuck with it through all that. Only thing these age groups...I would include the 05s as well. - can say is that uncertainty is certain

Not happening. And that doesn’t fix anything. From what I heard, Arlington can barely hold their on verse teams that have yet to win in ECNL. Not sure they’re in a position to give orders..as if anyone cared anyways.

Arlington is a big club, has great fields, proven record of placing kids in top colleges.

When was last time BRYC played Arlington, especially the U13 to U16 teams? With Arlington in ECNL, they would get even bigger and make ECNL that much better.

Arlington girls don’t have a proven record of anything. They had one year in full DA before the DA was shut down. More importantly, no one cares about them. They are just another club. There are big time club in SoCal looking to get back in...and will. There are gaps in the Midwest that new clubs in the Midwest will fill.

If Tophat doesn’t get in....you think Arlington will?

Arlington kids can go back to McLean if they choose.

No one is going to McLean. McLean does not work if there are other options. This is not 5 year ago.
