Anyone not playing outside?

My DH and DC are too afraid of covid and crowds, so when DH saw the local hill was crowded with sledders, they didn’t want to go and DC was absolutely refusing. So sad.

We went sledding and then came back in for movies, board games, and baking brownies! There can be time for screens after getting in some outdoor play. It felt so good to play outside and my kids had a blast. There may still be a chance to play outside tomorrow OP!

I hate cold weather, I was born and raised on an island so snow is something I like to watch on television. I spend winter indoors as much as possible, as do my kids. We watch a ton of movies, play way too many video games, read, play board games, etc. During the summer, we practically live outdoors. Do what feels comfortable OP. It’s really not worth a battle over this issue.

My kids spent 5 hours playing in the snow (& I was with them for most of it). But our local sledding hill got crazy crowded (we went first thing in the morning pre-crowds, then played in our yard). I couldn’t believe how people were practically on top of each other for hours during a pandemic.

Me again... they were super excited about the snow & eager to go out ASAP. But had they not been, I would have had them go out anyway.

Actual snow pants and boots will make a huge difference. I bought both for myself when my oldest was two and we had a huge storm. He had everything to stay dry and warm and I was soaking wet and freezing in my perfectly warm when dry clothing and sneakers. He’s thirteen now and I still use the same things, and we were out for several hours on and off today.

I didn’t want to play outside but did anyway. I hate cold with a passion. What’s the opposite of appreciation? That’s how I feel toward snow, anti-appreciative.

We frolicked and built a snow pyramid.* Then DH threw a snowball at my face and I pouted and went inside. He said he didn’t mean to throw it at my face but I don’t fully believe him. That was the end of my snow day.

* our family unit, mainly me, is majorly into pyramids right now. why build a snowman when you can build a snow pyramid?

I know he’ll love it and all his friends are outside but I’m kind of over nagging him to come outside. Anyone else not going outside?

Stop asking your 5-year old and tell them it's time to go outside. Seriously.
