Brushing teeth- how often do your kids brush per day?

I brysh my almost 5 year olds. She asks and i dont mind.

I brush at night, kids brush by themselves after breakfast. I don't do full 2 minutes. Dentist always says we are doing a good job of brushing, so I go by that. Our dentist said until age 8, we should be assisting.

Our dentist also said parents assist until at least 8. We do twice a day and floss once a day. I had horrible teeth as a kid so I do what I can to help their teeth.

My dentist said the same thing. I brushed DDs twice a day until she turned 8. She now does it herself. I maybe do it twice a week total. We keep a toothbrush and toothpaste in a cabinet in the kitchen too.
No cavities.

What toothpaste do you all recommend? My 4 year old is really picky and has rejected all the ones we've tried, even the bubble gum and strawberry flavors. I've started letting him brush with just water.
