Well I had to hire a nanny because schools were closed so if teachers who are not teaching in person can get vaccinated then so should nannies who actually see and take care of kids in person

Teachers are exposed to every child in the class, and through the children, to every member of their family.

A nanny is exposed to 1-3 families.

Nannies should be waiting. We’re not frontline, and we’re only essential if our employers are essential.

-Nanny, whose employers are not essential

My spouse is essential (ER doctor) and I am frontline (pharmacist)

This doesn't make them special or allow them to go to the head of the line. They wait their turn just like the rest of us like my 80 year old relative who abides by wearing a mask, keeping 6 foot distance and washing her hands. Teach your kids to do the same.

Sorry toots, but you don’t make the rules! I’m already vaccinated in Long Beach, California. Nannies are essential workers and we fail under the childcare tier.

Great, so she's 1c. That doesn't make her 1b.

I am a PP and our nanny was able to get her vaccine a few days ago. Not exactly sure what she did but she registered with her county or town a few weeks ago, was told she was on waitlist and then was called early this week to schedule a vaccine. We live in MD and she lives in VA and she was very upfront about all of this (i.e she didn't claim to work at a daycare). She had a letter from us and the nanny agency but they didn't look at it.

Caifornia is not Virginia, toots.
