I really like Abby's slow and methodical way of talking. |
|
Yes to all of this! Abby, wow, she is just so good. Thoughtful, crazy smart, doesn’t get into drama, and always able to tie it to a bigger picture. I’m thrilled for her. I can see her anchoring a show like NBC nightly news in the future.
Excited for Kaitlan too (I’m the OP on the hair thread!). Mostly excited to see how she grows into this role. I’ll never complain about more Tapper and his increasingly feisty Twitter shade. |
| I love kaitlan and abby. They have been such refreshing additions. I love most of the cnn team- particularly tapper, Anderson, Dana, and the election team wolf/king. Also love axelrod contributing. Abbys commentary is always very insightful and articulate. Kaitlan is great too. Sharp and steady- and woman to woman, does everyone notice how her hair is always so shiny and perfect? |
| Gloria Borger is my new fave. And yes, LOVE Abby Philips. |
That might be the stupidest comment I've ever read here. Kaitlan Collins is awesome, she's so sharp and focused, she talks like an intelligent, competent, and successful reporter and she will go far. |
Me too. She helps bring a sense of calm to these chaotic times. |

I Love Abby!! My AA daughter was having self esteem issues recently, and I showed her a video clip of AP speaking her mind.
It was one where Dana Bash was saying that Pence was brave to finally tell Trump he wouldn’t vote against confirming Biden’s win. Abby so respectfully and eloquently set her straight ... that Pence waiting until the 11th hour to say something he knew all along is the opposite of courage. And that the thought that Pence was mulling over this decision for the past few weeks was “ridiculous!” |
Even "crying" Don Lemon is smarter than Dana. I can't believe people are referring to these people as journalists, but to each their own I guess. |
| I love me some Ana Cabrera . The things I would do to that woman |
Yes! I don't watch much news on TV these days, but have also been impressed by her when I've seen her. Funny, my African-born husband said he thought she was also African, but it turns out her parents are Trinidadian. I'm also of West Indian extraction, so was happy to hear this. And yes, I should show her to my daughter too! |
Being from the south isn't an inherent disadvantage, you know... |
What does that mean? Voice? Cadence? Does Not end her sentences on a higher octave? |
Kaitlin definitely has a deep voice, but it's still feminine. And yes - no vocal fry or ending sentences on a higher octave! I think we've become so accustomed to younger women speaking that way, that it feels "off" if there's no rising vocal register. Same with Liz Landers on Vice News. Though, her voice is even deeper than Kaitlin's. Her way of speaking more deliberate, whereas Kaitlin's is a bit more naturally conversational. |

| ^^lol. further proof you're an ignorant idiot |
