Hyacinth

Hyacinth is not hard to pronounce at all, even for a little kid. My daughter’s name is Elizabeth and that’s arguably harder to say.

Hiya, Cinth!

Bye-a, Cinth!

What’s a cinth?

Be prepared for her to get obnoxious greetings and questions all through elementary and middle. I wouldn’t choose this name.

This is a real stretch.

Horrible.

So, instead, to get something similar, do Cynthia.

If your intent is not to do something similar, but are going for the flower, then you are not paying attention to the sound and are too wrapped up in the image.

Cynthia is an awful name.

Op, I think many posters have given you a lot to think about. But at the end of the day, it's your child. Good luck with your decision.

1. Brigerdon is great, it’s on Netflix.

2. I don’t mind hyacinth. Hyacinth Abby or Abigail would be my preference. I can’t stand grace.

I will never not associate it with Hyacinth Bucket from Keeping Up Appearances. Excuse me, Hyacinth Boo-kay. An insufferable old biddy who puts on airs.

We were thinking or
Hyacinth Grace
Hyacinth Abby

Hyacinth Bucket (pronounced Bouquet).

Are you for real?

Onslow if your next child is a boy

OP, I posted upthread that I like the name, but wanted to add:

Ignore the people who are assuming you like it because of Bridgerton (or Hyacinth Bucket, which for the record I have never heard of). My DD also has a distinctive name that had a very brief moment of popularity thanks to a television program, and for some reason people assume that's the inspiration as a result. But I didn't name my DD after a character on a briefly popular television show, obviously. It's just people being basic and lacking imagination. If I met a baby named Hyacinth I'd be so tickled.

You could always call her Grace if Hyacinth doesn’t work out.

I had never heard the name before the show. I do love the show and if I met a Hyacinth in person I’d likely remark that it’s a beautiful name and it reminds me of Bridgerton. What can I say... I’m basic.
