This is OP. My DH’s great great grandmother’s name was Hyacinth and that’s where the idea came from. I’ll have to look up all these references because I don’t know them (Bridgerton?) LOL.

I actually like it, and like the idea of honoring his ancestors. His family is very close-knit and quite small.

My main worry is that it’s too weird or hard to pronounce.

This, but for the child. Cinth would be hard for lots of little kids.

It's neither weird nor hard to pronounce. It's not my style but I don't judge it a bad name, and the family connection pushes it over to good choice.

The youngest Bridgerton sister is Hyacinth, named for the favorite flower of her father, who died while she was in utero. I think the Netflix series will be successful but I still doubt it will be an overwhelming association.

I like it! I also like Marigold.

How about Iris, Rose, Daisy, Flora, Fern, Ivy, Lily, Heather, Violet, Myrtle, etc.

Not OP but she said the appeal was that it's a family name, not a plant name.

Also Fern and Myrtle are objectively worse names than Hyacinth on every metric.

Use it as a middle name.

I like it. It’s not hard to pronounce at all. I like the nickname Cindy.

I like it and think it has lots of great nn options (Cynthia, Cynth, Hy, Thea). Do it!

The Pioneer Woman (Ree Drummond) has a good friend named Hyacinth and talks about her all the time. That is what the name reminds me of. I like it. It's better than Eleanor or Everly or Harper.

I think Hyacinth Grace is really cute. I like that it's both a little funky and old fashioned.
