+100 a Latina (On another note, the New York woman looks Latina to me) |
| ^— PP here. Meant to say “+100 a Maria” |
+1. Same for me. |
So? What do you have to add to the conversation? How does your response help OP? |
I stay and wait when my DD is at soccer practice rather than just dropping her off or carpooling. Never know what emergencies like broken bones, ACL, etc. during practice so I want to be around. Hence, no racist jerk can threaten my DD before, during or after practice without me being there. Profiling and racism can come from minorities too. The NY cell phone woman is Puerto Rican. (I am Asian American.) |
I know you do the same thing. |
Perhaps they help him get a sense of perspective? |

Getting back to the ball...
We had bought a pack of balls with a distinct color/pattern for my kids to train with. Once while at a game for my 4-year-old, my older sons were playing separately elsewhere on the field. When we were going back to the car, I noticed a kid (prob about 8 or 9) dribbling our ball. I rolled my eyes at my older sons for neglecting to bring their ball, walked over to the kid (with his mom), and politely told them that he had our ball. Yep, our name was written on their too. They gave it to me (no snatching!) and I went back to the car, where I saw the ball my boys had been using that day. This kid I saw had found another of our balls at a previous practice and it had been "his" ball for a few days/weeks. I felt terrible and wanted to give him the ball back to keep--wife wasn't having it, though. |
You should hear the racist stuff said in Spanish dios mio!! |
It’s easy to look the other way. Especially if you don’t “see race” and insist nothing happened. Nothing to see here! |
Lol okay |
Lol - yes. |
This is neither here nor there but the ball wise still originally yours, correct? |
|
A black man snatched a ball from my Chinese daughter’s hands.
Could this be gang-related? Maybe we should call the FBI. |
You've got two guys telling you that racism did not happen at their kids' games. They were there. You weren't. They are eye witnesses. You on the other hand are attempting to suggest that racism did happen at those games and these guys just didn't notice it. You have no idea who these people are. You weren't there. You have never attended one of those games. And you are trying to suggest that you know what happened and that these people are confused and maing stuff up. You are truly unbelievable. I don't look the other way. You on the other hand - having never attended any of my son's games - are - without any evidence whatsoever assering that I look the other way. |
