OP- I’d be careful to get overly involved. I am not sure how long you have known your friend. It is quite possible she isn’t telling you the full story. It wouldn’t be the first time a friend lies to save face and twist the facts and if the reason she was thrown out had to do with her lying and deceiving her husband: that’s who she is. Protect yourself and proceed with caution. Family matters can get ugly.

I can’t stress the above enough. The situation you describe is going to get uglier. How long do you want her living your hone and conceivably supporting her since she has no finances? Do you have a family of your own? What does your spouse and/or kids think about her living with you? It’s sad with the holiday season here.
