I joined out of curiosity. The user experience is terrible and half the posts are spam.

Parler is a safe space for aggrieved conservatives.

It will go no where b/c "free speech" isn't a bunch of right wing people posting together.

No one outside of the right wing echo chamber will spend time there b/c it's not fun hanging out with a bunch of basement dwellers whose only ideological interest is "owning the libs".

Like a few months ago, a bunch of people will join and then go back to twitter because they'll get bored of their echo chamber and realize they can't actually make money/promote themselves soley on the back of RWNJs.

My Trump-fanatic sis-in-law has been posting about it on FB. She said she joined. I have to unfollow her around election time because she posts all of these fake news stories. Ugh. Funny thing is, she is Jewish. It will be interesting when they start saying anti-semitic remarks on Parler. Wonder if she'll be appalled or not.

Also- it turns out to be an “influencer” on parler you have to take a picture of your drivers license and give your ssn.

So essentially, it’s identity theft of white supremacists which .... I’m not surprised.

Parler tried to do a big push over the summer - and all the high profile conservatives who joined very quickly abandoned it and went back to twitter.

Why? Because an app that is solely about angry conservatives is boring and can't be monetized for anything.

And the app will never be able to be monetized because to do so you need to have a wide ranging audience

And why will the app never be able to attract a wide audience or be monetized?

Well, I will share something that will be stunning to conservatives..."owning the libs" is only entertaining to you...no one outside your echo chamber cares about your grievance and you will never attract anyone but yourselves to your echo chamber.

Why would anyone outside the right-wing hate machine choose to join them?

They wouldn't.

This new parler resurgence will die out quickly.
