PP here. I didn’t read all the replies, honestly. We don’t bring snacks to the park, and my kids don’t walk around with a snack, and we don’t snack in the car. On school days they bring a snack, and have one when they get home (vegetable tray). The weekends, they are offered the vegetable tray and dip. |
| I always blanch the cauliflower, broccoli, beans, snow peas etc first in salted water before eating it with dipping sauce. |
|
Most of my kid-snacks are mainly appetizers or food in smaller quantities.
|
| Why not give them lunch box staples? |
| I make corn pudding (with jiffy and creamed/whole corn) and my kids love to snack on it. |
| mini quiche from costco |
| sushi rolls |

Dried apricots and cherry tomatoes (sliced in half because my kids are little) are big hits around here. We also keep apples and applesauce pouches around. Cut up strawberries too.
We are also not averse to occasional “evil snacks” like pirate’s booty or cheddar bunnies or pretzels. I am an “everything in moderation” person. But the kids must eat a veggie or a fruit snack first, or it’s a no go. |
Not at all healthy.. |
| Cheese quesadillas. |
| Why are they snacking when playing at the park? omg. Way to make kids obese. |

Snacks in our house are basically leftovers! Mainly for weekends when non-school hours are in effect.
A sliced apple or celery/peanut butter after school. Not enough to spoil the appetite of dinner at 6. And no , no eating at the park unless it is a family picnic. |
| Banana, oranges, apples, carrots. My kids eat fruits for snacks. |
