I was just at Cabin John and saw a guy dressed up as "Dude" from the Big Lebowski, it made my day.

OP here. My DD doesn’t have any friends.

This has always been the philosophy at our house, too. Plus the older teens often have the coolest or funniest costumes.

Agreed..and no your soccer uniform does not count as a costume.

WTF with you tone deaf people trick or treating? Seriously? Your kid really needs to do this? We aren't strict quarantining but that's just stupid.

Exactly. Who the heck are all these people trick or treating? Stay home! Be responsible.

Can't wait to trick or treat tonight to the houses that are participating! We'll have our table out topped with full size candy bars, fire pit going...can't wait! Kids will be wearing masks and using hand sanitizer. Enjoy your basement!

I’m sorry to hear that, OP. Luckily she has an awesome mom. Hope she has a blast with you tonight.

OP, you should take her. Wear something silly or festive, too, if she would like that. My DS has SN needs doesn't really have any friends, either. He was wondering about trick or treating and I discouraged it. I said it was because of COVID but really I knew I would be sad watching all the little kids with friends and him alone with me, his mom, like every other year. Usually I can genuinely make the best of everything we do together but I just couldn't this time. I'm not sure why. We did carve pumpkins and get candy for ourselves.

If they are dressed up and say trick or treat, they can have candy. I don't care if they are 6, 16 or 60. Yes, we had a 60 year old T or T last year!

No teen without a costume need approach my house.

OP here and I totally get it.

I hope the older ones still go to Georgetown. Such a great party scene.

My kids stopped wanting to go at 12 and 15.

I did not know there were so many fire pits in our neighborhood until today. I think this will be better than a typical year because everyone is outside. Plenty of space for distancing. Candy is in baggies to grab without touching anything else.
