Astrid is one of the cousins in Crazy Rich Asians.

This.

What’s your name, op? If it’s something traditional like Emily or Claire, then do you think it’s fair to saddle your kid with such an unusual name?

In addition to Assturd, there’s Asteroid.

DP. I resent having a top 10 name.

Astrid isn’t “Pilot Inspektor”

I would have to ask how to pronounce Imogen. I have never seen it. It don't care for either really but we probably just have different taste in names,

Imogen sounds like some kind of pill- a trashy medicine like for losing weight or something- not even a real medicine.

I love Astrid! My co-worker's daughter has that name. His family is Swedish.

I don’t like either. Astrid is harsh. Imogen ( my spell check went nuts with it) is also somewhat harsh. Can you look at other Swedish names ?

Well, obviously OP disagrees with you and likes names that sound like this. To my ear, they are so much better than Kacey or Bella or the piffle that passes for girls’ names these days. These are strong names, for grown women.

Astrid is beautiful (and not that foreign to Americans, please.) but it does have ass and turd in it. It is so unfortunate.

She is the elegant cousin who is as kind as she is beautiful.

I am Swedish and don't like either name. I would go with Ingrid.

It sounds like posters here are bored and want to be mean.

I think Astrid and Imogen are beautiful names.

Everyone has an opinion. This is a crowd source. Obviously she can name her baby whatever she wants to.
