I agree Michigan can not hold a candle to a SLAC. |
Oh for the love. My point is they are entirely different, but comparable, experiences. |
I ageee that a SLAC cannot hold a candle to Michigan. |
Yup. This is the correct answer. |
Full of Georgetown and USC rejects. |
LOL - Someone who went to Georgetown SFS and thinks Michigan is terrific and, in many ways, better than Georgetown (except for very specific things) |
Over 50,000 students and all the bureaucracy that comes with it is in fact huge and overwhelming. Ann Arbor is just a podunk cold weather flyover country college town. The kids who thrive on such a massive campus are the obnoxious Greek life coke trash there to party and the obnoxious ruthless striver Tiger cubs that went to magnet schools. If your kid isn't in either cohort, don't send them there for undergrad. |
All the California kids at Michigan were rejected from Cal, UCLA, USC and UC-Santa B. |
Seriously? Have you ever been there? |
Yes, I’m sure that the kids who got into a school with a 19% acceptance rate got rejected from a school with a 33% acceptance rate (UCSB). Moron. |
Let's hope they start to produce good, ethical leaders and knowledgeable voters or else we're screwed. |
High percentile Asians drown out rich white kids from the California colleges. Michigan is money hungry for full-pay OOS kids, so that's where they land. Everyone knows this. |
And you think that means it’s a crappy school? Where did you go to college, if you feel so free to crap on these schools? |
Yes. Only a provincial townie would defend it as aggressively as you are. |
I didn’t even go to Michigan. I’m from NYC. But it was a lot cooler of a town than I thought it would be. I gave it a chance — something you refuse to do. |
