Aug 29 SAT registrations BEWARE

My DC was also registered at Louisa County HS....we got the email this afternoon that the test center had closed or reduced capacity. Checked online at CB, and it looks like it is closed, so no test this weekend. Sucks big time as DC had been prepping. FCPS has Sept 23rd for 12th graders that need to test, so they will take advantage of that date.

There are several ACT test dates in Sept and Oct (inc. Sundays) but you can only sign up for one test each month.

Can’t speak to SAT but for ACT that would mean a cancellation. Happened to a friend- ticket just disappeared.

I noticed a refund from the College Board on August 7th and I did not request it. So, I assume they did that because the site I picked for the SAT is not availability since the high school is in a school district that will be online for the start of the year.

That sucks, but at least you got a refund. I'm still waiting on my refund from the ACT from my kid being cut at the last minute from the July exam due to space concerns...

Is the Fairfax testing option only for Fairfax High School Juniors and Seniors? If not, I wish we had known about this in advance. We did not even consider the close-in DMV area but athey have also cancelled

Sorry post got deleted. We didn't consider the close in DMV area because we have previously been burned by Wilson HS and Montgomery County High Schools.

By "Fairfax testing option", do you mean the School Day administration that FCPS is offering on September 23? If so, it is for FCPS seniors only at the school they attend.

you all really need to lobby your school boards to offer school day SAT tests to your students.

I tried. I live in Howard County and was told "no."

Does Virginia normally do school day SAT administration? The person I was in touch with dismissed my suggestion that the county have a school day administration, saying that many areas in which this is done had done so previous to COVID.

Nope! Lifelong Ffx Co resident and schools have NEVER done this before. They've done the in-school PSAT for a long time, but not the SAT during a school day. It's absolutely in response to COVID. Good luck in HoCo, PP.

Do not get your hopes up. Guarantee, Fairfax is going to cancel those tests.

I hope not. It is part of the reopening plan that the county has outlined at the last sb meeting. Sat in school testing , psat testing and bringing back small special ed and esol co-Horts are in the same part of the phase in plan that begins in sept.
