She's saying its not just health issues, but also about getting things up and running with safety and health infrastructure before opening doors. |
DP but probably kids at daycares that can't accommodate them doing virtual learning (don't have good wi-fi or time to help students log in). |
Right- we shouldn't lose our spots since we need childcare if that childcare can't help them do DL. These kids should still be able to keep their spots whenever DCPS does open- say Nov. 7th |
| She is NOT happy with the union. "40% of DC government is already back at work" |
I suspect you can work with your school to sort it out. |
| I’m in VA, so please forgive the question. Does this apply to DC charter schools? |
My husband works for DCgov. 40% is being very generous. Pretty much the only people working are DPW abs and libraries (which rumor has it are about to close) |
No. |
| I missed her answer to the question about what impact the union had on her decision. Did anyone catch that? |
Yeah, she basically said it didn't and it was about families. She also hinted that other DC workers are back at work, so why can't the teachers be. That's what I took her tone to be. |
Facebook allows you to go back at any time. |
Ditto. Schools are failing families. |
+1 I was bracing for this announcement tomorrow but it is depressing. |
my son is at a dc charter school (entering prek 4). So it's up the individual school to open or close? |
