Would MoCo allow students to take a gap year?

This. We had a friend whose children were in Israel for a year and when they returned, MCPS just stuck them where they belonged anyway. On the other hand, a former student did sixth grade with us and then his parents put him a private school to repeat 6th grade. Then he did 7th grade with us a year later.
