Sports are exempt:

"Should face coverings be worn at athletic and sports activities?

Coaches, players and spectators should wear a mask until they enter the field of play. In addition, coaches, players and spectators should adhere to the State Guidance on Sports Best Practices."

So...we can have our sweaty kids breathe all over other kids from various states but we can’t walk within six feet of other people on a trail? Sounds ridiculous

NFL players can not exchange jerseys, shake hand/hug or have contact with players from the other after a game. This is after playing!

Maybe some acceptable compromise can be found on some of these points. For example only play games in regional zones in the Fall (northern Virginia teams play northern Virginia teams, Maryland teams play Maryland teams etc). One point I would make on soccer is it is not a contact sport in the same way as football or wrestling. It is a fast moving sport on a large field - the contact is fleeting not sustained.

American soccer at a young age is frequently essentially a rugby scrum moving back and forth following the ball.
