+ 1 million Middle school was a complete sh!tshow for my sixth grader. All of the navigation between three online platforms, assignments for the week mapped out in a 30 slide PowerPoint presentation, work to submit by hitting Submit on some pages but Share on others and is you don’t do it right no credit. There was no leeway at all third quarter and due to lack of organization on her part while I worked FULL TIME she ended up with a lower grade. It was disappointing that some online live teaching wouldn’t have been rolled out for kids who’ve only used google classroom for five-six months before school closed. It was absolutely a poor job by the school. |
This is what I’m nervous about. My oldest will be in 6th next year and I think the elementary schools had a much better schedule than it sounds like the middle/high schoolers did. Ugh! F coronavirus! |
That’s a low bar and nothing to brag about. |
No, but it is one small thing to be grateful for. |
True, look at the crazy going on over on the va schools board. |
| Every quarter of DL should be considered a lost quarter. If the county wants to expand the achievement gap then DL is the way to go. A friend teaches HS remedial english - his entire class essentially dropped out of school 4th quarter last year. She tried chasing them down but it was impossible. |
