MD camps can’t take out of state kids?

Huh. Well, there you go.

It's not up to them. Oh well. I don't care but someone will report them.

I'm not sure the governor would agree with that, but they are right that technically it is not a state.

How is this legal??? Seriously. It sounds borderline racist

Seriously, I don’t think you know what that word means.

Agreed. It feels out of line with all the other health-related rules.

Omg camp will be over but the time this lawsuit comes to pass. Move on.

Write an email to Governor Hogan. It can’t hurt.

No, but MD is. OUT OF STATE would be anything not in the state of MD.

I asked for clarification on this issue from the MD camp I registered for, and their response was that their summer program is open to children with working parents and they are operating under the Department of Education Child Care license. Does this mean the DOH regulation does not apply to them?

Hooped is accepting DC kids in MD camps.

Some camps simply aren't following the orders. Not great.

Why not register your kid using a MD work address? Or get a PO Box in MD (some may even be physical address).

If the camps ask for official state health and vaccination form, this won’t work.

Working parents are really being screwed over! I can’t work from home. My office in Bethesda so I always consider nearby camps! Hogan is a loser.

Anyone have any new info on this? Is there advocacy with the state to change the rule?

Here is the latest MD order, updated to allow for overnight and indoor camps, but still banning out-of-state campers (as the very first rule). I don't know about any advocacy efforts going on.

Yeah that’s a bad sign.

How is it ok to ban out of state kids for day camp, but not day cares?

Anyone know if there's been any update on the out of state rule for MD campers? We are right across the line in DC and several of our usual camps are in MoCo.
