I still listen to R. Kelly. The same as I listen to Marvin Gaye. Great music is great music.

What did Marvin Gaye do?

Marvin Gaye was into teenage girls too. He had a child by a teenager. He left his first wife for the 17 year old he met when he was 34. If we are honest, many of these singers deal with teenagers. Bell Biv Devoe in Do Me - "Backstage, underage, adolescent..." It is not just R&B. Elvis, Mick Jagger,it goes on.

I don’t believe those men, and I make it a point to listen to Jackson’s music because I think he was wrongly cancelled by society.

Enjoy your child rapist soundtrack.

Plenty of people do. You think you are saying something that is suppose to shock and upset someone. It doesn’t.

Says the person not shocked or upset by the rape of children.

Again, you want to shock and upset someone. You want to scream “rape of children” then you need to provide some actual proof. Hollywood gossip and storytelling is just that, gossip and storytelling. Now if you want to scream “parental neglect” and “horrible parenting,” we have proof of that.

Who cares? He’s still dead.

His family has been complicit in denying all the allegations, so inasmuch as the royalties for his music goes to them, I don’t listen to his music anymore.

Agree. He was clearly abused by his father and others. But that doesn’t excuse his obvious abuse of others. I do not listen to his music anymore.

His music is dated. There’s much better stuff out there now.

I don't listen to someone's shitty music because they are an angel and I certainly won't stop listening to great music just because it was written by a shitty person. The artist is valued for his or her art, not moral perfection. I mean Leo Tolstoy was an asshole to his wife and family, yet I bet you gobbled up Anna Karenina didn't you.

I was a teenager from 1980-1989. I was never a fan and don’t recall even liking his songs or albums or videos much beyond Thriller era.

He just wasn’t “cool” or even someone teenagers really liked BITD. His fan base skewed younger ...and we know exactly why.

MJ abused boys 8-14 years old. He was done with them by the time they went through puberty. He was a pedophile.

This is also why I can’t watch The Cosby Show anymore, even though it is a great show.

MJs music is great. He was rich and his family will be rich forever. He is still a pedophile and to listen to him now, after the documentary, only reminds me of that, so I change the channel now. The end.

+1. I don't get how he wasn't cancelled AS this was happening. This is an example where I don't understand how people continue to be ok with a person. MJ, RKelly, Jimmy Savile, Gary Glitter, Hitler. Everyone has accomplishments, but they don't outweigh damage done.

Good music doesn’t ever get dated. The crap out now will not stand the test of time.

So the MJ haters don’t listen to a Elvis either right?

Bc it could never be proven without a shadow of doubt. A lot of the families took money over protecting and fighting for their kids. If their owns parents didn’t care, you can’t expect society to care.

If you discovered that they are telling the truth would that change anything for you?

How would we discover they were telling the truth? It’s their word against a dead man. That’s why he hasn’t been canceled. That’s why they still play his music on the radio, in movies and in stores. MJ following is too big to cancel him over two random men who claim abuse after he is already dead. Even when he was alive people still overlooked the abuse allegations.

Say that video evidence came out that proved it without a doubt.

Would that change anything for you?

Change what? He’s still dead. Do I believe he is a creepy man? Absolutely. Do I believe sh*tty parents were basically his accomplices? Absolutely. But I also thought he was questionable when the very first allegations came out in the 90s. This new documentary didn’t make me question him anymore than I already did bc, he’s dead.

So, it doesn’t matter to you one way or another if MJ sexually abused children? You will play his music no matter what because you think he was “wrongly cancelled by society”?

He wasn’t canceled by society. He was canceled by you and a few others who need a documentary to make decisions. If you didn’t care in the 90s, idk why you pretend to care now. Idk if he sexually abused children. I believe he is odd and spent way too much time with children, whose parents offered them up on a silver platter. Waiting for someone to die to attack them doesn’t convince me of much. I listen to his music bc I enjoy it.

You still haven’t answered - if you knew for sure that he sexually abused kids would you continue to listen to him?

You asked if it would change anything, not if someone would continue to listen to him. Be clear about your intentions. How would I know for sure? You mean if a clear video came out with him abusing children would I stop listening to him? Probably but, I won’t know until that imaginary video comes out. We know that all it takes for you to jump on a bandwagon is a documentary after someone is already dead.

I asked if it would change anything for you.

And you seem to be making a lot of assumptions about me. Why is that?
