I genuinely think he has shills on here to boost "support" for his candidacy

Yes. And isn’t it well known that many of the anti-Jack Evans and anti-Bowser DC signs are put up by Republicans to breed cynicism?

What anti-Bowser and anti-Jack signs? There are none. Show us pics, as I’ve never seen these.

Got four mailers in over the past three days for Patrick Kennedy. He’s getting a lot of outside groups and PACs to spend money on his candidacy, but I’ve seen nothing disclosed on the DC Board of Elections site yet for his disclosures.

Mailers received include:
BWLDC - Baltimore/Washington Laborers District Council: lobbying group for local construction laborers union
Democrats for Education Reform - Pro-charter lobbying group tied to Corey Booker and NYC financiers

Kennedy’s priorities seem to align strongly with Bowser.

For a lot of families in Ward 2 that care about seeing improvements in DCPS, other candidates will likely be a better choice than Kennedy.

Not sure why you think Kennedy and Bowser are aligned. I went to the debate in March and he was the only main candidate there who said he does NOT want Bowser’s endorsement: https://twitter.com/fenitn/status/1235739197983592452?s=21

Also, as others have noted, he was integral in saving Francis-Stevens from closure and has been a strong advocate for the school. I haven’t seen any of the other candidates speak up in favor of saving that school or do anything at all with supporting DCPS. And as someone else noted he has the most donors from within the ward and is using public financing.

Where are his donor disclosures? I see no filings related to the 2020 campaign disclosures by his campaign.

All the ward 2 candidates besides Pinto are using public financing and their disclosures are here https://fairelections.ocf.dc.gov/public/FinancialReport

And if you go to dcgeekery.com there is an analysis of where all the candidates are getting their money from

You’d have to be a moron to support closing down schools in your ANC. Any rational politician supports keeping schools open when it’s a target of the big, bad OSSE central office.

That’s a no-brainer decision lol

What are the candidates differences when it comes to their policies on crime prevention in DC?

Living in the finger of 2 closest to Shaw, shootings are on the rise. We are going back in time when it comes to violent crime. No one seems to care about the schools over here either. Tired of candidates that only seem to care about Georgetown. Evans has got to go for sure!

Also, which one has the fewest developers backing them?

I am leaning towards Kennedy but still deciding.

The election is today!

Ward 2 in-person voting is at Hardy Middle School on Wisoncin Ave.

We don't need a council member with no ties of service to the community representing Ward 2. I am a huge supporter of Patrick but I also respect John Fanning and Kishan for a least having experience as community leaders and a record of providing support to Ward 2 residents.

I'm absolutely disgusted by both Grossman and Pinto. They have no chance, so the only thing they are doing is splitting the vote to ensure that Jack wins. Idiots.

I'm voting for Kennedy, as he has shown continued leadership and has the best chance of beating Evans. I very much respect Fanning and Kishan, as they have put their time in and it is entirely valid that they would throw their names in the hat, but Kennedy is better and has broader reach.

Disgusted is harsh. What cabal does your fevered brain think is pushing them?

Have they counted mail-in ballots yet? I sent mine in weeks ago and the DC BoE ballot tracker site says it has no record of mine.

WTF?

Sincere question:
Where/how did Brooke campaign? I saw only 2-3 of her signs in my neighborhood. I got tons of mailers for Grossman, Kennedy, and Putta. Grossman and Kennedy campaigns were texting me constantly. I also saw tons of Kennedy and Grossman ads on social media.

I literally saw ZERO about Brooke, aside from her own website. It’s like a phantom campaign and I’m pretty highly engaged in Ward 2 politics. I’m honestly shocked at her vote count, seeing that she had so few donors from our Ward relative to Kennedy, Grossman, and Putta.

WTF?

The Washington Post endorsement may have helped her.

It seems to be the year of the women. She’s like the polar opposite of Jack Evans.

It sure didn't help Brandon Todd or Mike Austin.

I had massive issues with that endorsement. WaPo endorses a candidate who voted for the first time in DC in late 2019? And who gets 70% of her campaign money from outside the District? Wtf.

Something is rotten in Denmark. Seems like a quid pro quo between WaPo and Racine mayoral campaign.

Isn't it a little early to assume Pinto won the primary? She's leading Kennedy by 100 votes and they'll be counting mail-in ballots for the rest of the week.

Somewhat related question: where is the ballot tracking tool PP mentioned above? I'd like to make sure my ballot arrived.
