Why no underwear under pjs? I’ve never heard of this.

NP here. My DD used to get yeast infections a lot as a tween. One of the tips my pad gave me was no undies under PJs. It actually worked pretty well. I suppose it airs out the area.

My daughter is 4 and has had a few cases of vaginitis. She’s apparently very sensitive so the ped recommended moving to loose pjs or nightgowns without underwear at night. It’s helped a lot to “air things out.”

She always wears underwear under her leggings and cartwheel shorts although it’s likely a similar issue for her come to think of it...

Where did you get this idea?

Because your title asks: "Cartwheel shorts with or without underwear?", which suggests that sometimes you think underwear is optional.

I think she’s asking whether cartwheel shorts are underwear. I don’t see why they couldn’t be worn that way.

I don't know why. My kid has been wearing bike shorts or cartwheel shorts under all skirts and dresses, with underwear, since she was out of diapers, and never complained. Unless a skirt has built-in shorts, she wears shorts underneath it. I buy a pack of cartwheel shorts from Primary and they are just a standard part of her getting dressed.

My kid puts on her PJs after her bath, and usually does not wear underwear, for the same reason.

Do you wear underwear under your PJs?

Np: don’t want to hijack, but this was me as a young girl and when she does wear underwear, I suggest 100% cotton underwear, or at a minimum, underwear with the all cotton panel in the crotch area. It will be much better for her.

Huh. I would've never considered no underwear an option.

You've got to let your stuff breath at night. Of course no underwear!

Same here. I’ve never given it much thought - each daughter does what she finds most comfortable.

Same in our house. And no underwear at night.
