The point of cartwheel shorts is so that people don't see girls underwear when they are playing, so....you wear them to cover under wear. I can't people are this dumb.

NP here. My DD used to get yeast infections a lot as a tween. One of the tips my pad gave me was no undies under PJs. It actually worked pretty well. I suppose it airs out the area.

In our house cartwheel shorts are called “skirt underwear”

(Or dress underwear, or tutu underwear, you get the idea. You only need one underwear at a time so my kids don’t double up.)

I think some people may be using these cartwheel shorts as regular shorts worn with a shirt - in which case - yes! Wear underwear!

However if these cartwheel shorts are being worn under dresses for modesty and to facilitate play - it’s not necessary to add an extra layer of underwear - the cartwheel shorts are the underwear.

The cartwheel shorts I've seen do not have a gusset like panties...only a straight seam going down the middle like regular shorts. As such, it seems like it would be really uncomfortable to wear cartwheel shorts without underwear. But that's just me.

That’s not the point to me, dumbie. It’s to have more coverage under the skirt/dress than underwear. Why do I need to double up? My daughter wears them solo under her dresses. She’s 5 and is comfortable this way. She doesn’t like the feel of such tight shorts against underwear.
