How to keep tankini top from floating up? Willing to sew something...

Anonymous
Both of the tankini tops I own have two layers - I tuck one in to the brief and lead the other out.

I've worn tankinis for years and have never had this problem. My kids are year round swimmers -- I swim a bit in these suits, play games with them and generally move around. No floating up at all.

Most of mine are from Nautica. I have one from Land's End, but it is old. And I got a great one at Everything but Water last year. I think it is from Helen Jon, but go there and see if someone can fit you.

Float up? Buy a smaller size.

Buy a smaller size. I almost always wear tankini’s and they don’t float up. Maybe you’re wearing the really blousy ones? Try something more fitted? Alternatively I’ve also worn a more fitted workout tank top and boy shorts. It’s a great combo at the pool and no one bats an eyelash that the top isn’t a ‘bathing suit.’

You look hot, I promise. You do not need to wear a speedo and mens swim trunks to cover anything. You're a total babe. I just spent a week at the beach and I saw every size, shape, and age of people in swimsuits that would fit my 6 year old and they felt great in them. Their confidence showed!

If thats not your thing- Summersalt has a huge selection of one pieces and have long torso options. Please branch out from Lands End. I am begging you.

Nope- I will never give up my Lands End swim leggings and swim shirts. I have not been sunburned since I started wearing them. And that makes the pool/ beach fun again.

I had this problem. I bought a new one this year from Lands End for a “ tall” women, I’m 5’7 and it looked more fitted.
Definitely doesn’t flare up in the water.
I wear it with shorts I got at Costco.

No great solutions here but I have the same problem. I went shopping yesterday to look fot a body suit to wear underneath but couldn’t find just the right one. Most were thongs….ugh. I’m going to look again online

Last year I got two tankini tops from Lands End, and they are very fitted and do not float up. In fact, to get the size my upper body needs (small), they are very tight and I have trouble pulling them over my head. This year I started pulling them on like a skirt instead and that's less traumatic for me. I do have to stretch them around my hips, but I was stretching and pulling to get over my shoulders and head too.

I typically wear a sports bra like top, and these tankinis feel age appropriate (by my choice, not a judgment) but my torso seems very hot compared to the smaller tops.

Buy ruched ones. I am still wearing my pregnancy ones even though I’ve lost all pregnancy weight (am a size 0/2) and it doesn’t look weird.

La Blanca ones do not roll up.
I have had them in a ton of sizes.

Lands end suits are not as good as they used to be.

Otherwise I would just sew some velcro on the top and bottom.
