BRYC STILL RELEVANT?

This could be the single must dumb thread on this board. First, all ECNL teams will benefit from the DA’s demise. Second, this club has 5 national championships with one on the boys just a year ago in USYS. Their 02 girls team has every senior placed in college with 95% in D1. No club in town is amazing too to bottom in NOVA right now - boys or girls. But all ECNL teams are much more relevant on the boys side now. And, if Arlington gets ECNL on boys then they will remain relevant. And Loudoun and VDA will pull in players too - so will Bethesda. The better question to ask is how can Any club without ECNL or MLS remain relevant?

Look at BRYC page they have no information about ECNL or the club they just dont care anymore and by looking at the ages record they are all bottom of the barrel teams. Alexandria or whoever should get ECNL thoughts?

Yep. Alexandria parent here. I really doubt Alexandria parents were posting here. BRYC is a great club, especially at older ages. I cannot imagine that would change, or if it did, it would help or affect Alexandria in any respect. People just stirring the pot. Ludicrous stuff.

On the boys side our choice would be between BRYC and Arlington. Would hate to see Arlington replace BRYC in ECNL. That’s just kickball if the DA coaches don’t stick around. And don’t wanna play with McLean parents, who are more political than Arlington ones. No desire to commute to VDA or Loudoun. So please keep BRYC.

Bryc only good boy teams are the 03 and 02 (their 2 older age groups) their younger teams are not good at all.

This shows good development if your best teams are your oldest teams (i.e. in the college recruitment pipeline). If your best teams are elementary school ages and the teams become average or weak at the high school ages you should run from that club. Some people just don't get it.

If the older players were with the club when younger, point taken. If not, you are just recruiting well.

Good development and good recruiting are not mutually exclusive. In fact, they tend to be highly correlated.

This is not true. There’s no relationship between development and recruiting. Some clubs have both, some have neither, and some have one or the other.

Of course the two are correlated. It is far easier to recruit if you have a reputation for good development then if you don't.
