I pay $800 with Geico for a 2005 Subaru. One driver, no accidents, fairly high deductibles. I wonder what the difference is. Aggravating!

that is aggravating! we're in vienna, if that makes a difference. we also didn't have domestic insurance for the prior 2 yrs b/c we lived overseas. i think our deductible is now $250.

Not bad. Which insurance company?

It doesn't really help to know how much someone is paying without also specifying deductibles and coverage limits. Even knowing the car models/age is only a little helpful.

GEICO. Both of us have the 5-year good driving discounts.

I pay $144 for an 2003 Suzuki Aerio, Geico, I live in TX. top rated car insurance varies from state, based on the type of car (i.e. sports cars are higher!), driving record, marital status, number of years you've had your licence, and many, many other factors!

My advice is to shop around. We were paying 1200 a year for 2 Hyundais (one 2003 and one 2005) in close in MD with Geico with no accidents or claims for 10 years. Switched to Progressive with all the same coverage and deductibles and are now paying 800 a year.
