How do you think gyms wills reopen?

Hello, cancer.

I'm hearing from one that initially they will open with 1-1 sessions between trainer and client. Won't charge for these sessions. But you know that will only go on for a while before they start charging.

But I just don't see how most gyms can survive this. Just like warehouse stores, they depend on huge numbers of memberships. People are going to drop those memberships en masse once they realize they can only get one slot at 9PM a week.

There are some small places already doing this. It’s just not being publicized. Or the trainers are taking it outdoors.

Let it weed out the germophobes. If schools and other businesses can open, there's no reason gyms should wait.

Hello, cancer.

They can fog with hydrogen peroxide steam; it decomposes to water.

Right, fog with some sort of disinfectant. The same stuff Korea or Japan or whoever have been spraying the streets down with.

You're being dismissive, but this is how it will be. The people who don't care about getting sick will go, and the people who think there's too much risk will stay home. I just feel bad for the employees. I hope they are all there voluntarily and getting paid well.

If I have to o back to my office you can bet I'll be back at the gym. I won't lie, if the gym opened tomorrow I'd be there. My one regret in all this is that i didn't go to the gym one last time before they closed.

Disinfectant fogging system. https://halosil.com/products/the-halo-disinfection-system/

Wire this up like fire sprinklers and you're good.

Yes, because at gyms there are zero people breathing hard and heavy from exertion, spraying their breath even further than normal people at rest.

(shrug) I go at 6am and there is never anyone within six feet of me, so I'll take my chances.

Heavy breathing in a closed gym = super spreader

My family won't be going to a gym anytime soon.

You weren't going there anyway, fatty.

Same. I go at 5 am and only go to lift. I’m never close to other people. I’ll probably wipe down equipment before I use it but I’m willing to take my chances.

I am not going anywhere near gym until we have vaccine and/or antivirals. I'm not optimistic seeing how we have botched and still are botching even basic testing.
