This is a travesty! What we learned yesterday - needed supplies, ie: masks, gloves, PPE, etc - are going from the federal government to COMMERCIAL DISTRIBUTORS who then take bids from the states.

The Trump administration is ENABLING PROFITEERING on supplies. WARTIME SUPPLIES.

Likely it was Port Authority seizing them. But who knows. It could have been CBP or FEMA. This is some crazy Lord of the Flies sh#t right here. Super sketchy.

Whoever commandeered he masks it's obvious which jurisdiction has the port and wants your stuff.

There are reports of US Customs seizing orders of N95 Masks and other supplies at ports of entry. Orders made by states and hospitals.

Where exactly are these seized materials being directed? This is why we need a central, federal effort.

I remember being young and in school and learning about great injustices, oppressive governments, etc. There’s always the discussion about those who enabled it and excused it but how We’ve Learned, We’re Better, Never Again. etc.

I’m old now. I’ve seen a lot - a lot of cognitive dissonance, a lot of excusing of injustice and oppression still, but the lengths to which US citizens are going right now to continue to justify their support of Trump is just....it will be fodder for political scientists, psychologists, social scientists, you name it, for decades to come. It is unreal yet fascinating insight into the human psyche.

Not only did the admin screw up the initial response, they continue to screw up (and no doubt profit off it - it’ll come out eventually, if years down the road). They continue to ignore warnings. They continue to just NOT do anything useful to manage the problem and get us out of it. Testing is getting worse. No govt movement on supplies and in fact they are interfering and making things worse. It’s just breathtakingly unbelievable how awful they are.

Please do not forget that Cuomo also stated he didn't understand how it reached a point where all this stuff is made in China...and who else has posed questions on decline of USA manufacturing? Cuomo also stated today that Oregon is sending his state ventilators. Note that is one out of 52+ jurisdictions if you add up states, DC, territories. Trump has been complaining about uS compa nies manufacturing overseas for years - ironically it has taken this pandemic for many to understand. Other mayors and governors should use this for job creation and Asia move outs. From clohes to toasters to ventilators and beyond.
