Online Dating - Nice body, but face is so-so

I’m very happily married to a tax attorney who I met on match 10+ yrs ago. What are you looking for in a partner, OP? It’s hard to advise on what your profile pics/Description should highlight w/o understanding your intentions. What kind of relationship are you hoping for? Also, how crazy are your hours and time you can spend on relationship. It matters.

Based on your OP and follow up, I suggest:

--lead with a full body shot of you doing something you really enjoy, where you look happy and hot (exercise, traveling, whatever)

--do include a flattering but representative head shot

--no shirtless or gym selfies, avoid selfies in general. Hire someone or ask a friend to take a photo if need be.

I am a woman who turned to online dating in my 40s after divorce. I can assure you that there are quality people out there and I hope you have fun.

You have the potential to do better in the marketplace now than earlier in your life. By that age/stage, people know more about what they do and don't want, do and don't value. I was far more open about looks, for example, in so many ways, if someone was smart, had their life together, had a good sense of humor, etc.

Has been charmers who are trying to ply the same tricks since they were hot at 20 wear thin quickly and are easy to spot.

I think you sound adorable and have a great sense of humor. I'd pick you in a heartbeat, taxman!

You sound like a good guy OP, but maybe a bit too thirsty. Just have a good time with it and don't take things so seriously. Less can be more when online dating. Also, American women aren't exactly highly coveted. Have you tried dating foreign women?

I was a PUA back a number of years ago. I only did a little online dating (I was much better at in-person), but what the PUAs I knew did who were into online dating is to test out photos. Set up two fake profiles, maybe in some other city far from here so you're not "being fake" to people you may actually want to date. Post both profiles up, maybe even with similar wording, and see which gets the most attention. This is also a good way to test out text in your profile also.

Whatever you do, make sure to include a face shot (no sunglasses/obscured face), and some kind of full body shot. No full body shot = hiding your weight.

There are websites out there with information on how to write a good profile, and some will even give you advice on your profile for a small fee. It sounds like you're serious, so it may be worth it. You want to attract the right attention just to get your foot in the door (get them to agree to a date), and from there it's all on you, but seems like you have a decent personality so you'll do fine there.

Some people look better in pictures than real life and vice versa. It's hard to photograph charisma and how someone carries themself.

I vote you use a photo wearing Gucci sunglasses, Armani suit, Louis Vuitton shoes with the Eiffel Tower in the background.

I have such a photo. Except I am wearing an ascot with my Armani suit.

Why don’t you work on some standup comedy. Women love to laugh.

Great idea. I will get the Ferrari and a dog photoshopped into this picture.

I think I see more women with OLD photos who have dogs than cats, so plenty of women like dogs.
