Why isn't there more of an outcry that the US isn't testing more people for Coronovirus?

The letter from the nurse who treated a patient for coronavirus, has symptoms, but can't get tested is just insane. Korea has tested 140,000 people and can test 10,000 people a day. Why isn't the US testing thousands of people a day? Where is the outcry?

We do not have enough test kits.

Americans are selfish.

Testing only confirms the cases at this point.

Why isn’t there an outcry - because most people weren’t paying attention to it until Italy blew up and went on lockdown so quickly. People can’t really relate to China, but they can relate to Europe. Now people are catching on but they still don’t understand how far behind we are.

This time next week I expect our numbers to explode.
WRONG! It is a huge fail for our current administration. CDC is a government agency. Early on and still to some extent now, our administration doesn’t think this is serious. Did anyone watch the recent press conference when Trump was at NIH discussing the vaccine trials. Fauci kept saying we are at least a year away from a vaccine. Trump kept turning away from him and saying to other officials that it couldn’t be right, it would be sooner. Fauci said “No” about seven times.

I know. They should be all over the news. I think there are thousands and thousands of people in the US that are walking around with this disease right now and the only reason they don’t know it is because they haven’t been tested. Pence just said they won’t have enough tests.

I thought it was a bit crazy at first but now I really do believe the admin is just trying to deny testing to keep the numbers low.

Regardless of the why, though, to the extent that people realize there is no testing happening, I don’t think many understand the implications. In this very thread people are asking why bother, it’s already here, etc. Managing a health crisis like this is not something the general public will understand until it’s too late.

Separately...South Korea has drive through testing sites! Amazing! Imagine living in a country so rich and advanced that it could provide such critical services to its citizens!
