Was that intended to be helpful? Also, did you intend to spell your reply correctly?

Sometimes I think people lack someone in their life to tell them to toughen up.

Compassion is kinder and more effective.

Not when it feeds into someone inability to manage as an adult in the world. It perpetuate women as weak. If a man was posting saying he can't travel because he needs his pillow. He would not get any compassion at all because men are expected to be tough and to cope. Women can so the same. Compassion is a good response where compassion is needed. Not when an adult complains about sleeping without their pillow from home.

Maybe just learn empathy?

What does she expect us to tell her. She has two options: 1: sleep without the dumb blanket. 2. pack or buy a dumb blanket. She doesn't need to crowd source this.

Actually, there are travel-sized weighted blankets available. I like this one:

PP, did a weighted blanket once break up with you? You seem to have a lot of baggage, pun intended, about the topic.

Nope. I'm just annoyed by helpless adults who don't seem to understand how to make the most basic of decisions by themselves. This board is full of them.

The poster wasn't asking for help making a decision. They were asking for ideas about substitutes for a weighted blanket. You need to take a walk, breathe deeply, practice some compassion, and perhaps opt out of threads that you can't comment on constructively. Belittling others doesn't help anyone. And if the board is full of people who apparently earn your ire, maybe take a break from posting and reading.
