Another funny kid story. Not the past Christmas, but the one before we were out for a family dinner at a restaurant. My nephew's mom had left him at the restaurant because my nephew was going to spend the night with Grammy. Then he changed his mind and asked where his mom went. My older son told him that his "moms" had already left. I turned to my son and told him that his cousin only had one mom. Although this was not news, he looked at me incredulously and asked me if I was kidding and how that could be. I told him that families are made up in all different ways and his cousin's just happens to have a mom and a dad. Then, my two boys, ages 4 and 7 at the time, simultaneously and spontaneously went over the their cousin, put their arms around him and consoled him by telling him that it was ok if he only had one mom.
