Oh my god, OP, just buy a freaking minivan already.

if kids are still young, why not just get another minivan? no SUV will beat the space/driveability of a minivan

I just don’t want to. My youngest is 10.

suck it up, OP.

If you are looking at X60 you can step a little up to BMW X3 price wise.
They can have a third row and are awesome.

I would not be cought in a minivan even if you pay me. Stick to your guns OP.
They are hard to park, and goofy. If you don't need one why by such a long car?

This is insane. Many people just don't like minivans. I for one. NEVER!!!

If I had to compromise, I would get probably Volkswagen Atlas with leather seats
as for this price it is huge but still looks cool and feels like respectable car.

HUGE interior.

DP, I considered that. Then I realized it’s a VW. It’ll be in the shop more than I’d be able to drive it.

I love driving my cx-9. We don't always use the 3rd row, but it's not bad.

My college car was VW Golf and first family car was Passat, never once a problem in years.
Go visit their faiclities, they are European cars, European standards and they
have to keep up now especially after the farud with the fuel.

I would take VW over Asian car in a heartbeat.

Tiguan 2019 model comes with 7 year warranty, so if it breaks it is on them
but just ask actual owners don't trust the internet anonymous posts.
People who own VW really stick to them.

We bought an Ascent in March and traded it for an XC90 in November. I'm a Subaru lover and have owned 2 legacy sedans for years. I absolutely hated the Ascent and so did my DH. I couldn't wait to get rid of it. At 3mos we had to replace part of the transmission after getting stuck on the road with our two young children 3 hours from home. It's slow, no pick-up, horrible CVT (and my Legacy has CVT with no issue), and uncomfortable seats for long drives. I could keep going. It was worth the money we lost in the sale to get rid of it.

My 9 year old sat in the third row of the MDX this weekend. He said that it was very tight back there, and his knees were higher than his hips. I can't imagine teenagers would be comfortable back there. Plus, the reliability is predicted to be awful.

Another vote for the Hyundai Palisade.

Huh, we really like the Ascent.

XC90 is also way more expensive and not really comparable to these other options.
