Have her dress like a hot dog

It's fine. Kind of rude of the hosts to encourage people to wear dress up dresses, since not everyone has them. |
Our kids attend a pricey preschool. I bet we are the only family without any princess dresses laying around. |
We just had a princess party for my 4 year old who is obsessed with princesses. I encouraged dress up but we also had tons of extra costumes around for kids. One girl came dressed in a NASA costume and one girl came in a pirate costume. And some kids didn't dress up at all. Absolutely no one cared. Let your daughter wear whatever she wants. |
I'd borrow one from a friend and bring it in case once she sees everyone she wants to slip on a dress. |
This makes me feel so much better. Thank you. She likes to be comfortable and clothes/hair are a battle for us. She hates when I brush her hair. She hates any fancy. She is a t shirt and leggings girl. |
She should go as a Prince! |
100% overthinking this. No one will notice, or if they do, they certainly won't care if she comes in street clothes. |
It’s a princess party, not a Disney princess party. |
She's a princess in a movie that's part of the Disney franchise. So, yes, she's a Disney Princess. But it's just a princess party anyway. |
Introduce her to actual princesses (spoiler, ones a young kid who’s allowed to get dirty!) and let her dress normally. |
Is there any recognizable Princess Leia costume? The only one I remember is the metal bikini and that’s wildly inappropriate... |
Wear the flower girl dress and add a tiara. Or a cute top and tutu. |
No one would care what she came in OP. If she wants to dress in regular clothes, use some leggings and top that matches your flower girl dress. Take that flower girl dress and a head band with you - just in case she wants a dress after she sees her friends all dressed up. You can slip the dress over her at the party. |
Yes, of course! The white dress and hair buns she wore for the entirety of the first Star Wars movie (A New Hope). Whenever I see little girls dressed as Princess Leia for Halloween, it is always this particular costume. |
