Connor is super trendy and a Conor spelling will be a PITA his whole life, spell the name the usual way at least.

Sounds like an asbestos law firm that advertises on TV when you say them together.

For me, I've noticed that names ending in -den are trending now (3 in my PACE group, and all over moms groups I'm part of online), probably as part of the surnames-as-first names zeitgeist, and it feels trendy. It's not about Catcher in the Rye.

DP The thing is last name as first name as been around awhile. Look to no further than Schulyer Hamilton, grandson of Eliza ( Schulyer) and Alexander Hamilton.

That doesn't change the fact that it is now very trendy. And in the past it was usually, as you note in your example, using a name relevant to the family. Not just "this sounds fancy!" like it is now.
