Suit against FCPS over energy contract

Because this is DCUM-land, yes, above should be its and not it's, and there's a typo too. I know how people here will leap on things like that and ignore the content. So...PP, want to lay out your plan for a better FCPS? Don't just yell that it needs "no corruption!" Specifics.

The allegations in the former auditor general’s lawsuit against FCPS are credible and deserve to be taken seriously.

Brabrand’s negligence on other issues is a matter of public record, and ample cause for seeking a replacement.

Parents like him.
Teachers like him.
Principals like him.

Good luck with that.

Many parents do not like him and they pay the salaries of FCPS staff.

He is incompetent but smiles a lot. That only takes you so far.

Huh, that explains why Garza left so abruptly. But to be allowed to leave w/o any accountability....well, that's what's wrong with the world.

She pushed aside anyone who stood in the way of her cashing in on her position as Superintendent of the nation's 10th largest school system. She was fundamentally corrupt.

Brabrand isn't corrupt like Garza. He's benefited from taking over at a time when the county is doing better financially, so the county transfer is larger and they can pay teachers more. He gets credit for that, but he lucked into that situation. When it comes to things that are entirely within his purview (student performance, re-examining programs like IB and AAP, and managing the capacity imbalances within FCPS), he's largely dropped the ball. If he isn't replaced, he ought to be told he's not meeting expectations. Kind of like a school that's only accredited with a warning.

Also check out payment for the new FCPS website that occurred at that time. I think Garza now works for the people who did that.

The school board pays the salaries using the budget provided through taxes that are not only provided by parents, but also teachers, administrators, residents who are not parents, tourists... The “We pay your salaries” argument is thin and you won’t be able to dictate decision making any more than you do with the police, fire department, or any other public employee.

She took a job as the CEO of Battelle for Kids, a nonprofit educational consulting organization. She is still there 3 years later. http://www.battelleforkids.org/
Not sure what you mean regarding the website change. All of that occurred because the old platform was outdated and not easy to navigate on small devices like phones.

He’s on thin ice already.

For a guy who claimed “the main thing is the main thing,” he’s done a lousy job addressing the basics.

If you read the FFU thread, a lot of people were voting "no" on the meals tax and citing this kind of spending as the reason.
