| I don’t think the odds are necessarily as low as we are saying. It depends on the status of your cycle and family history. There is a lady in my church naturally pregnant at 45, 46 at delivery. I’m in awe! |
I don’t get this study, it is recommending women aged 49+ not to use birth control and to have abortion if pregnant? Why? |
Yes, this. I have a friend who conceived 3 kids (first month trying) at 40, 42, and 44. At almost 46 she thinks she is now "too old" to get pregnant again. Let's say, I have serious doubts about that. |
So was the condom old? If you’re not doing it often, don’t forget to replace the old condoms. They have a shelf life. |
| Schedule DH for the snip. |
That study was published 40 years ago. I would look for newer information. |
Probably because of the risk of blood clots or strokes from hormonal birth control, which were much higher back when that study was published because the pills available then had much higher doses of hormones. They are still risky as you age for that reason, especially if you are overweight or smoke. |
Don’t think there is enough incentive given the low frequency |
Absolutely. |
No. |
This is a hard no. If she was sure she wanted to be pregnant she would not have asked on an online forum. |
Agreed !000 % |
Yeah, plan B is taking it in the back door. You’re surely not gonna get pregnant! |
Highest odds are for a miscarriage. Second highest odds are for a healthy birth. Third highest odds are for a child with a birth defect. |
