Star Wars - What to Watch Before Rise of Skywalker

So say the fanboys that can't let go of the past.

I personally love the new movies. Also hated episodes 1-3 but who doesn't?

I think you should watch last jedi and force awakens before this one though.

I am a fan girl. I object to boring, incoherent movies. Whatever the prequels were, I never felt like walking out. I felt that during the Force Awakens. Will not watch the Last Jedi, not this one. I like my movies to have a coherent story. Disney has paid every person possible to pretend that we are sexist, anti everything racist. Simply not true, in my case they are bad movies. That is all. However whiny Anakin was, I cared and was upset when he turned to the dark side, how do you explain Bed killing Han Solo and me sitting there bored out of my mind?!

But you saw it coming, right? I mean it was so predictable, and sloppy and Ford almost said that the only reason he agreed to do the movie is that they would do what Lucas refused to do. Kill him. It was anticlimactic. Because I was not given any reason to feel that there was a father son bond between them. Han was a loser dad, Ben was petulant child. If I was a Sith, I'd kill a dad that ditched me and left me to uncle who wanted to kill me. No emotional connection of this was explained, given us to care, nothing. If they did that, abandoned child, sent away to train, uncle trying to kill him, imagine that movie?!

Well, I hate Ben, so there's that.

Also, I was a life long fan of SW. I liked Revenge of the Sith, for the most part. There was an awesome recap of how Lucas wrote a good story, but presented us with a shallow version. As opposed to Anakin being older and not indoctrinated from babyhood to follow the Jedi cult, and realizing that manipulating people's minds, being a religious restrictive order that forbids marriage is messed up and the reason kids go along with it is that they are stolen from their families as babies! There was a Clone Wars episode on this. Instead he gave us whiny Anakin, and not the smart Anakin who is feared by the Jedi because of his power and because he sees the Jedi for an oppressive mind controlling cult.
If Lucas let someone else tell that story, I think Hayden could have acted it out. He was not a bad actor before in a movie about the house or something like that.
And Rotten Tomatoes are around 50% on the RoS. I think even critics had enough to covering Disney's failure. Make me believer Ray, why is she doing all this? Remember Luke? His uncle and aunt were killed! Only then he goes off with Kenobi. Prior to that he was like, eh... no, you freaky hermit. Just give us something! Why does Ray care?

I just read the Post's review. The reviewer did not like it and seems to have all the same problems with the prequel and newer trilogy films that I do. I guess I will still go see it, but only because I grew up on the originals.
