A neighbor doing something stupid. I would block out her face. Can I post it? Anyone?

You can do anything you want to do. You can also become well known as a d*bag. Your call.

Can I post on this? I think people should know WTF, is all.

I am positively certain that me posting it would be the least of the worries after what happened. It is destined to be a great meme.

I posted on our neighborhood listserv to call out my neighbor who kept letting her dog poop in my yard and not pick it up. I asked her several times to be sure to clean up after her dog but she always said it wasn't her dog or it must have been my dog. Finally, after catching 3 instances on camera, I posted them and have never had an issue again.

You seem to want to create a meme here. But what IS it that the neighbor did? And would the neighbor’s identity be recognizable? Even if you blurred my face, for instance, my body type is pretty unique so I’d be identifiable. And I’d be furious if a neighbor posted a video of me to gain internet fame or just get a laugh.

So what “stupid thing” did the neighbor do? Precisely? Picking his nose on camera is one thing. Doing a silly dance nightbeb no bid deal. But what it is would really impact my judgment on what kind of a jerk you were being...Was the neighbor being a bad neighbor and you caught him? Or just going about her business doing something harmless but possibly humiliating that you think is funny?

You sound like an asshole. What’s wrong with you that you want to embarrass your neighbor for personal gain?

I’d tell you that posting it would be rude, hurtful, and invasive for your neighbor, but I doubt you’d be moved. Instead, I’d encourage you to google names like Natasha Tynes and Dani Mathers and remember that the reaction to your mean-spirited meme may not be positive.

Video surveillance is great, people shouldn't mess with Teslas or nice homes

How would you possibly be sued?

not PP, but in our neighborhood (we have an HOA) we aren't allowed to have Ring or anything similar because apparently along with recording what's happening at your doorstep you can also position it so that it records what your neighbors are doing. I live in California if that matters - we're pretty much not allowed to do anything due to so many ridiculous regulations but that is a completely different conversation.

The California legislature is a joke. Passing hundreds of laws annually to save the people from themselves!

Or in the case mentioned, saving the people from their nosy, intrusive neighbors.

If a crime happens within 5 miles of your home, you can be certain the police have access to your doorbell video 24 hours before and after the event. So if you live in a high density area, that is pretty much 24/7. Oh and don't get me started on Amazon dot... Radius is half a mile.

So what? The police can see how many delivery people came to my door on any given day?

So that's why you have a video camera on your porch -- to see how many packages are delivered on any given day? I thought it was to protect you from those big, bad armed home invaders.

People like you make our neighborhoods suck.

They are illegal in my state too. If they record what is going on with audio without the consent of the person than it’s a felony and you can face jail time. Not a risk I would take just for a doorbell.

California resident here. To the person who said they would never live somewhere where something like this is not allowed, you need to understand that more and more states are getting on board with making this illegal as more and more people sue.

A Ring doorbell in some neighborhoods would just make you a bigger target. That’s the case in my parent’s neighborhood. You must have something nice to protect or are looking for gotcha moments. Posting images to a neighborhood group? I shutter to think about retaliation.

Know your audience OP.

I do! That's we we have the Ring doorbell. Try it, you'll like it Hours of entertainment, depending on where.

Oh, and it is fairly obvious we have nothing to take LOL. But you keep blabbering on about how much you know, k?
