Presents on Christmas

Everyone knows the best moment of Christmas is coming downstairs and seeing all the wrapped gifts and being so excited to open them you can’t even decide where to start. Unwrapped and out in the open (unless it’s like a bicycle or giant easel or something) is so anticlimactic.

I am not impressed by parents who make their kids sit and wait for the boxes to be opened/wires and plastic clips to be cut/screwdrivers to be located to get the batteries in (which may also need to be located), assembly to occur. That kills that moment of seeing the gifts for sure.

How sad. Your kids have nothing to wait for, to look forward to, just now, now, now, now, now, now, now, now.......Nothing better than enjoying the morning putting all those toys together, its called family time.

Our Christmas family time consists of enjoying our gifts and eating, not dad exiled in the corner cussing bc he can’t find the right Allen wrench.

NP here. Gifts can be assembled and batteries put in before being wrapped. That’s the way we roll for most things.

2. Are santa presents wrapped? In boxes? Put together?
3. Are presents from you wrapped?

1) Christmas Eve presents (pajamas) are from parents. Christmas morning presents are from Santa.
2) Yes
3) Yes, in different paper from Santa.

Every year I say I'm going to have a gift wrap exchange with other parents so that others can use last year's paper for their Santa gifts, but then I always run out of time.

We also assemble and load batteries before wrapping. We do it all on Christmas Eve, with wine. Each kid gets his own wrapping paper.

Our kids get various gifts and most don’t need to be assembled! While dad is putting together one item, they play w/ their other stuff! Anyway, that’s part of the fun of Xmas morning for my girls...opening packages, unwrapping. But I love how everyone does it different!! I think it’s awesome!

Santa is a busy guy! But at our house he only brings one big gift. When I was a kid, Santa didn't bring any gifts, only filled stockings.

One gift from Santa (not the main gift) and fills the stocking. May or may not be wrapped.

We give 4 gifts that are wrapped.
