You’re quite the charmer.

I love Gail, whatever

Every Gail I've ever met is a raging B with a full-on personality disorder. NP, btw.

Huh. Never knew she named her daughter after herself. Thought her name was Rory or Aurora.

Did they ever explain that? Not only saddled her with teen mom, but weird naming too...

Yes. They explained the daughter was Lorelei, nickname Rory.

The part they didn’t explain is why Richard and Emily would choose a free-spirit name like Lorelei for their daughter.

Yes, they explained that too. Lorelei was named after Richard’s mother. She continued the tradition by giving her daughter her name.

Huh. Wouldn’t the tradition mean Rory should have had Emily’s name?

Lorelei and Emily were estranged at the time. I can't imagine her naming her daughter after her mother based on their history.

My grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Jackson, named my mother Mary Elizabeth Jackson as well.

I never thought of it as conceited. Just unimaginative.

Which is different than honoring yourself or relatives with a middle name. Which makes complete sense to me.
