Anyone done a Zoom meeting on an airplane?

It is not annoying if one has on headphones and is only listening.

All of the above are inconsiderate and rude. If anyone else can hear half of your conversation, stfu.

Absolutely rude plus I know my company would look very poorly on me broadcasting company business to an entire plane load of people. Don't you get the training about not talking about your business in any public place.

All this, if you even manage to get consistent connection. It just takes too much bandwidth.

OMG Yes I'm glad I'm not the only one that remembered this! Acela Bob will live on forever!

I probably won't do a ton of talking because there are a lot of different participants in the meeting, so it's not like I'll be shouting at my computer the whole time, but it seems annoying for the person next to me. On the other hand, I'd like to be able to attend the meeting...

Why can't you zoom at home like the rest of us? Don't travel and if you do don't zoom on a plane! Stop being selfish.

I can't believe how many people are saying this is rude. What is the difference between listening to people talk over an electronic device or listening to the people next to you talk face to face? I never understood this. Same with phone calls. Two people can have a face-to-face conversation that everyone hears and that is acceptable but have that same conversation over the phone and it's rude? Don't get it. I say live your life and do what you have to do Zoom meeting or not.

If I were your seat mate I would start listening to Spotify without my headphones, then. And sing along. No big deal, right?

I've done it on airline wifi (international flight) with no video and it worked fine. I just needed to say hello and state my name so barely talked. Had to hang up after 20 minutes bc my kid needed my attention more, so not sure how long it would last. Do what you got to do.

Anonymous wrote:Totally rude, annoying and NOT cool. I would for sure complain about you to the flight attendant. Just like I complain about people watching phones/iPads without headphones. Common courtesy is dead. Everything must now be a “rule” or people don’t GAF.

Have friends who were on long flight with toddler. Kid had an iPad but no headphones b/c not "developmentally appropriate." Of course folks around them complained and they got indignant because "it's a long flight and he is not old enough to wear headphones." They posted on FB about it before the plane departed. Responses were largely supportive of their stance with only a few dissenters. I was torn though probably more sympathetic to "no can do."

I would not be torn about Zoom. I would speak directly with you, then, if necessary, signal for the flight attendant and request to either be moved or have you moved.

This is the most American thread if ever I've seen one.

Well I can’t walk off a plane because you’re being loud...I have to deal with it.

Wow. I’m sure instead of being fired like he should have been, this person banked an extra 300 grand bonus due to the layoffs.

Oh, don't be that jerk on the plane if it isn't an essential meeting. Seriously annoying and rude.

I think it's rude to hold lengthy conversations in public off airplanes as well, especially speakerphone. But at least in TJ Maxx you can walk away. You can't walk away from someone's stupid unnecessary conversation on an airplane.
