| Most parents will spend more in team fees and coaching than they will receive in scholarships. |
Kids get an admission bump academically if htey are recruited for a sport. This can open up doors to schools they otherwise may have never even considered. It isn't always about he scholarship. |
| Not a surprise. There are more D1 women’s scholarships than players in DA. |
This is simply not true. Ask me how I know. There are so many that can tell you that this is not at all true. |
It's certainly not true for boys, and I can't imagine it's true for girls. |
| Girls and boys are very different because of title 9. Look at the stats link above. Many more D1 women’s soccer programs and each program has 50% more money for girls. |
|
There are 9,464 D1 women’s players. So each year D1 programs need on average 2,366 new players.
There are about 80 DA teams with about 20 players each so only 1,600 graduating DA players per year. |
You are not qualified to post on this unless you played soccer 35 years ago on a select team, played in college at a d1 school and coach your kids 3rd rec team to an undefeated season. So just stop with all these facts and stuff. |
|
Just because a D1 program needs X players doesn't mean they have that many dollars available for scholarships.
Having 2 kids playing soccer in college focusing on the soccer instead of academics would be a huge mistake. All colleges have academic scholarships no matter which division and a limited pot of athletic money to give out. If your child qualifies for academic scholarship they are a much more valuable as a recruit and much more likely to get an total offer which helps. If you want to get paid to play in college focusing on grades and test scores. |
| The link shows the money for each school. If a D1 school is not fully funded most likely they have no men’s football or basketball program. They legally cannot give more in men’s scholarship money than to the women as a whole. |
don't forget travel to tournaments, showcases, etc. If you add up all the costs for your soccer player to play over the years and if you had invested that money instead ... |
Futsal, ID camps too, people don't realize how much they throw at soccer in reality |
If college money is the goal spend it on tutors instead of soccer you'll get much higher return rate. |

Ivy league is D1 and offers no athletic or merit scholarships at all -- so you are clearly clueless. |
