Can I leave kids 11, 7, 4 in hotel room while I use hotel gym?

Assuming you are near whoever you are visiting...drop the kids there and come back for your workout.

You’re both crazy.

I would bring kids to the gym with ipads. Who am I kidding? I have 3 kids. I wouldn’t be going to work out unless there was a kids club.

Can I legally/wisely leave the kids in the hotel room while I use the hotel gym, likely on a different floor (??) of the hotel. Oldest has a gizmo phone. They would just be watching tv/playing on pads for 45 mins. What do you think? If oldest were 12 I would say absolutely, but at 11 I'm not 100% sure.

I wouldn't leave my kids alone. Any chance a relative could come over? Or ypu could look at a youtube exercise video? Bring some weights or exercise band? I get exercise is important but your kids safety comes first.

What is your basis for saying this is illegal? Particularly when you don't know what jurisdiction she's talking about? Cite the statute please!

Wow. So many helicopter parents!

OP, if you’re going to be out an hour or less, it’s fine. Just make sure you have your cell and the 11 year old knows to call if anything happens. Honestly you’re less than 3 minutes away if you’re in the same building.

I have faced a similar situation. Is there a high school track in the town you are visiting? Bring em, sit em in bleachers with screens, you do your workout outdoors. If they don’t interrupt you, take them out for breakfast afterward!

Bring the 4 year old and an iPad with you.

Caring parents who have common sense. Leaving kids alone is neglect.

Virginia: not law but accepted CPS guidelines say no younger than 13 without adult present: https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/familyservices/children-youth/child-supervision-guidelines

Maryland: must be 13

So keep making excuses... and hope your kids aren’t taken away.

I babysat a 4 year old & a 7 year old when I was 11. They were easy. The 6 year old I babysat, however, was a nightmare & I couldn't control him.

I think it totally depends on the kids.

Ffs. Stop suggesting OP bring a 4 year old to the gym. It's not a daycare or a kiddie space.

Can you download a baby monitor app for your phone/an iPad so you can actually ‘watch’ them from your phone while you work out?

No. Even if you trust your 4y old (I would have trusted my older child at that age), you still cannot do it because you risk someone calling cps on you. If the older child was at least 13....

I’d go super early in the am while they were all asleep
